Getting to Coimbatore
✈
By Air
Coimbatore International Airport (CJB) is about 15 km from the venue. Pre-book a cab or use Uber/Ola — the ride is around 30–40 minutes.
🚂
By Train
Coimbatore Junction is the main railway station, well-connected to Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and most major cities. Auto-rickshaws and cabs are available right outside the station.
🚌
By Bus
TNSTC and private luxury bus services (SRS, KSRTC, Parveen) connect Coimbatore with major Tamil Nadu cities and Bangalore. The CMBT bus stand is centrally located and walkable to most hotels.
While You're in Coimbatore
Getting Around
Uber and Ola work reliably across Coimbatore and are the easiest option for airport and inter-city travel. Auto-rickshaws are plentiful and great for short hops — always agree on a fare before you get in, or insist on the meter. The city isn't walkable in the traditional sense but distances between key areas are short, and most rides cost under ₹150.
Food & Drink
Coimbatore is a paradise for South Indian vegetarian food. Start your mornings with idli and dosa at Annapoorna or Sree Annapoorna — local institutions that have been serving flawless breakfasts for decades. Filter coffee is a religion here; order it as a decoction-milk combo and don't rush it. For something heartier, the Chettinad and Tamil Brahmin thali spots around the city are extraordinary. If you eat meat, the local Kongu-style chicken dishes are worth seeking out.
Weather in September
September sits at the tail end of the south-west monsoon, so expect warm, humid days around 27–32°C with occasional afternoon showers. The rain rarely lasts long and usually cools things down nicely. Pack light, breathable fabrics — cotton and linen work best. Carry a small umbrella or a light shawl, and you'll be perfectly comfortable. Evenings are pleasant, especially outdoors.
What to Explore
If you have a day to spare, Coimbatore punches well above its tourist profile. Marudhamalai Temple on the city's outskirts is a stunning hilltop Murugan shrine worth the climb. The Dhyanalinga meditation centre in Isha is a genuinely serene hour-long experience. Brookefields and Prozone malls are good for casual shopping. And if you want to escape the city, Ooty and Valparai are both within two hours — the drive through tea plantations is worth it on its own.
